With the start of school on August 8th just around the corner, the Maverick County Hospital District is hosting its annual BACK TO SCHOOL FAIR on Thursday, July 24, 2025 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the International Center for Trade, 3295 Bob Rogers Drive, Eagle Pass, Texas, featuring the free distribution of school back packs, school supplies, tablet raffles, prizes to lucky winners, and a public health fair with free sports physicals, free hair cuts, together with many local healthcare providers and agencies offering their services, announced Xavier Benavides, Quality Assurance Coordinator at Maverick County Hospital District at a press conference held on Tuesday, July 15, 2025.
Benavides stated that the BACK TO SCHOOL FAIR is open to the public and admission is free. To be eligible for the free school backpacks, supplies, and prizes, the student or child must be present and attend the public fair at the International Center for Trade on July 24th.
Benavides added that the Maverick County Hospital District genuinely cares about our children being prepared for the new school year and their healthcare needs are met by one of their providers or community healthcare partners.
Last year, a total of 500 school backpacks and supplies were distributed to children. Due to popular demand and need, this year the Maverick County Hospital District is distributing up to 700 school backpacks and supplies and offering many prizes to lucky attendees, including tablets.
Guests will enjoy snacks and refreshments at the BACK TO SCHOOL FAIR on July 24th, noted Benavides.
In addition, over 25 local healthcare providers and agencies will participate in the popular MCHD BACK TO SCHOOL FAIR, offering different goods and services to attendees.
Students will be able to get free sports physicals on site and free hair cuts to the first 25 students requesting one. Many other healthcare services will be available from the healthcare providers and partners participating in the public fair.
Parents are encouraged to bring their children to the MCHD BACK TO SCHOOL FAIR on Thursday, July 24th, at the International Center for Trade.
