Consulate of Mexico at Eagle Pass to Celebrate “Grito de Independencia” on September 12th

The Consulate of Mexico at Eagle Pass, Texas is celebrating the 215th Anniversary of Mexico’s “Grito de Independencia” on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 6 P. M. at Plaza San Juan in downtown Eagle Pass, announced Consul Vivian Juarez Mondragon.
The “Grito de Independencia” festivities will feature live musical groups, dance groups, games and activity booths, food and refreshment booths, the traditional “Grito de Independencia” and ringing of the bell by Consul Vivian Juarez Mondragon, the presentation of the Othli Award to an individual or organization who has opened pathways to Mexicans immigrants during the past year, and family entertainment open to the public.
Consul Vivian Juarez Mondragon cordially invites all residents and the public from Eagle Pass and Piedras Negras and surrounding areas to attend and participate in the beautiful, historical celebration of Mexico’s 215th Independence Anniversary.
The festivities will include the presentation of colors by Mexican school color guard, Ballet de Folklorico dance groups from Eagle Pass and Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, Mariachis, recording artists who will perform live, and many fun-filled games and activities for the entire family.
New this year will be the presentation of a raffle for prizes and gifts, including several large television sets, for people attending the Grito de Independencia. Attendees will receive a raffle ticket for the random drawing of the prizes and gifts.
The featured Mexican community for this year’s Grito de Independencia festivities is Bacalar, Quintana Roo, Mexico with representatives from the community presenting the rich cultural traditions and art of one of Mexico’s magical cities.
Consul Vivian Juarez Mondragon stated this year’s Grito de Independencia festivities will provide family fun and entertainment for everyone. All are invited to attend the Consulate of Mexico at Eagle Pass, Texas event on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 6 p.m. at Plaza San Juan in downtown Eagle Pass.
