WIC Eagle Pass Hosted Breastfeeding Seminar

The Maverick and Kinney County WIC Program invited all pregnant and breastfeeding moms to its annual Breastfeeding Event, held in recognition of National Breastfeeding Month and National Health Week.
The event took place on Friday, August 29, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the WIC Clinic, 1175 Eidson Road, Eagle Pass. Admission was free and open to all pregnant and breastfeeding women enrolled in WIC across Maverick and Kinney Counties.
That year’s theme, “Got Breastfeeding Questions?” reflected WIC’s mission to provide families with reliable guidance and ongoing support as they navigated the challenges and rewards of breastfeeding.
Organizers said the event focused on education, encouragement, and connection. WIC staff and trained breastfeeding counselors were on hand to answer questions, share techniques, and link families to services that promoted healthy beginnings for both mothers and infants.
Beyond professional advice, the gathering also provided the opportunity for moms to meet others in similar stages of life, exchange experiences, and build a supportive community.
“Breastfeeding not only strengthens the bond between mother and child but also plays an essential role in long-term health,” WIC representatives said. “We want every mom to feel confident and supported in her journey.”
The event featured informational sessions, interactive discussions, and community networking opportunities, all designed to celebrate the importance of breastfeeding in early childhood development.
