Lyte Fiber to Install Fiber Optic Internet Service in Eagle Pass, Investing $18 Million

Marc Eichenbaum, Vice-President of Governmental Affairs and Community Development for Lyte Fiber, LLC. a Texas digital company headquartered in Houston, Texas announced at the Eagle Pass City Council regular meeting on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 that the company was investing over $18 million in Eagle Pass to install and provide state of the art fiber optic internet in the community for the use and benefit of residents, businesses, and local entities.
Lyte Fiber is installing 177 miles of fiber optic cable in Eagle Pass with 50 percent of it being on the ground and another 50 percent in the air. The company plans to hire up to 35 full-time jobs in the community to work for it installing, servicing, and marketing fiber optic internet service in the community.
Eichenbaum stated that Lyte Fiber will dedicate one percent of its gross sales in Eagle Pass to local charities and organizations as part of its corporate culture. He noted the company was surprised that Eagle Pass did not have fiber optic internet service in the community. The company visited the City of Eagle Pass in July of 2025 and has made a total of six trips to Eagle Pass to speak with City of Eagle Pass representatives and conduct research and due diligence of the need for fast, efficient, and affordable high-speed fiber optic internet service in the community.
Eichenbaum added that Lyte Fiber is already installed in about 20 mid-size communities in Texas, including in Uvalde, Texas. He stated Lyte Fiber will operate the Eagle Pass investment and operation from a regional headquarter office in Uvalde, Texas. They are currently walking the streets in Eagle Pass to research the need and demand for fiber optic internet service. They expect to install up to 6,500 fiber optic internet connections in the community.
