Eagles Quarterback Xavier Barrera Named Co-Most Valuable Player in District 30-6A Football, Other Eagles Honored

Eagle Pass High School Eagles senior quarterback Xavier Barrera was named by the District 30-6A Head Football Coaches as the 2025 Co-Most Valuable Player among a flock of Eagles named to the prestigious All-District Football Team.
Among the Eagles receiving All-District Football Team honors include sophomore wide receiver Jeremiah Silva who was named Co-Newcomer of the Year; senior running back Luis Flores as Most Outstanding Running Back; senior middle linebacker Manny Fernandez as Most Outstanding Linebacker; senior defensive lineman Julian Martinez as Most Outstanding Interior Lineman; senior wide receiver Sebastian Velasquez as First Team Offense (Unanimous) and First Team Specialist (Returner); sophomore punter Bastian Medina as First Team Sepcialist (Punter); junior cornerback Tristan Villasenor as First Team Defense (Unanimous); junior center Jayden Garcia as First Team Offense; senior tackle Eduardo Lopez as First Team Offense; senior guard Robert Miranda as First Team Offense; senior defensive end Anthony Paniagua as First Team Defense (Unanimous); and senior safety Rodrigo Garcia as First Team Defense.
Receiving Second Team All-District Defense Team honors include cornerback Jorge Martinez; defensive end Ricardo Martinez; inside linebacker Alex Ruiz; outside linebacker Anthony Chacon; defensive tackle Pedro Gaytan; and safety Ryan Rea.
Named to the Second Team All-District Offense Team honors include place kicker Ivan Cruz; slot receiver Marco Medellin; wide receiver Jesus Barba; tackle Isaac Sanchez; and guard Jerry Alvarez.
Recognized as All-District Honorable Mention Team include running back Avery Embry; quarterback Jay Jacquez; defensive end Arturo Hernandez; and linebacker Alex Mallen.
