Jeb Bush: Congressman Canseco Outsourced “Principles and Convictions”

House Republicans are outsourcing more than American jobs these days.  Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush said that Republicans like Congressman Quico Canseco (TX-23) had outsourced their “principles and convictions” by signing conservative lobbyist Grover Norquist’s pledge during testimony before Congress on Friday. Bush made clear he would never sign Norquist’s pledge to protect tax breaks for millionaires, Big Oil and corporations that ship jobs overseas. Congressman Canseco not only signed Norquist’s pledge, but he has consistently voted to protect those tax breaks at the expense of the middle class.

“Even former Republican Governor Jeb Bush knows that Congressman Quico Canseco is wrong to pledge to a conservative Washington lobbyist to protect tax breaks for millionaires, Big Oil and corporations that ship jobs overseas,” said Jesse Ferguson of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “Congressman Quico Canseco outsourced his ‘principles and convictions’ to Washington lobbyist Grover Norquist instead of pledging to protect Texas middle class families.”
