Rep. Tracy O. King Attends Task Force Meetings in Laredo
AUSTIN, Texas – The Task Force on Texas Energy Sector Roadway Needs assembled by the Texas Department of Transportation and The Eagle Ford Task Force assembled by the Railroad Commission of Texas each held separate meetings in Laredo. Representative Tracy King attended both meetings and had an opportunity to address the task force members.
“The impact the Eagle Ford Shale has on our communities, businesses and roadways is what brings us all together today,” said Rep. King. “It is important we listen carefully to everyone’s ideas and concerns and work together to ensure that the needs of our communities are addressed.”
The Task Force on Texas Energy Sector Roadway Needs is made up of representatives from the Department of Public Safety, the Department of Motor Vehicles, the Railroad Commission, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, counties, and the energy and trucking sectors. They are challenged with developing long-term funding strategies and plans to address infrastructure concerns well into the future.
The Eagle Ford Task Force, launched by Railroad Commissioner David Porter, is made up of 22 appointed members ranging from representatives of drilling and trucking companies to green energy experts and landowners. The Task Force meets monthly to facilitate conversation between all parties and establish best practices for developing the Eagle Ford Shale.
