C. C. Winn High School Top Five Percent Honor Graduates Recognized

C. C. Winn High School Principal Jesus Diaz-Wever and Head Counselor Margaret Mejia announced the top five percent honor graduates of the thundering Mavericks Class of 2014 on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at a dinner in recognition of the top graduates.
The top scholar graduate of the C. C. Winn High School Class of 2014 is Valedictorian Cinthia Alvarado with a phenomenal 102.8974 Grade Point Average (GPA) and she plans to attend the University of California while closely behind her is Salutatorian Herminia Jaqueline Cruz with an outstanding 101.8864 GPA and she plans to attend Oregon State University.
Placing third is Sonia Margarita Laredo with a 100.5556 GPA and she plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin; in fourth is Kristel Vasquez with a 100.3421 GPA and she plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin; in fifth is Karla Sanchez with a 99.3590 GPA and she plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin; in sixth is Alberto Hernandez with a 98.9459 GPA and he plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin; in seventh place is Eliazar Sanchez, Jr. with a 98.7674 GPA and he plans to attend the University of Texas at San Antonio; in ninth is Arianna Rosario Gomez with a 97.9231 GPA and she plans to attend Baylor University; and in tenth is Jasmine Escobedo with a 97.5526 GPA and she plans to attend Texas A & M International Univeristy.
In eleventh is Brianna Michelle Guedea with a 97.2308 GPA and she plans to attend the University of Texas at San Antonio; in twelfth is Jennifer Rodriguez with a 97.2250 GPA and she plans to attend Texas State University; in thirteenth is Denisse Gomez with a 96.6571 GPA and she plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin; in fourteenth is Monica Herrera with a 95.9459 GPA and she plans to attend the University of Texas at San Antonio; in fifteenth is Ashley Franco with a 95.8333 GPA and she plans to attend the University of Texas at San Antonio; in sixteenth is Sophia Salinas with a 95.6154 GPA and she plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin; in seventeenth is Estevan Rios with a 95.3421 GPA and she plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin; in eighteenth is Marco Ramirez with a 95.2619 GPA and he plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin; and in nineteenth is Alan M. Reyes Rodriguez with a 95.2368 GPA and he plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin.
In twentieth is Blanca E. Sotelo Ojeda with a 94.8333 GPA and she plans to attend the University of Advancing Technology; in twentieth-first is Leigh Anne Rodriguez with a 94.7949 GPA and she plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin; and in twentieth-second is Karla Garcia with a 94.7647 GPA and she plans to attend the University of Texas at San Antonio.
C. C. Winn High School Administration is led by Principal Jesus Diaz-Wever, Assistant Principal David Camarillo, Assistant Principal Matthew Uriegas, Assistant Principal Aide Jimenez-Hernandez, Dean of Instruction Rosalinda Jimenez, and Instructional Officer Jorge Benavides.
The Mavericks Counseling Department is under the direction of Head Counselor Margaret Mejia and Counselors Kimberly Ballesteros, Alejandro Musquiz, Laura Centeno, Raquel Castro, Iris Najera-Perez, Linda Garcia, Maureen Trevino, and College Advisor Maria Luisa Uriegas.
Attending the dinner of the top Mavericks graduates included Eagle Pass Independent School District Superintendent Gilberto Gonzalez, Assistant Superintendent for Business & Finance Ismael Mijares, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction Samuel Mijares, Assistant Superintendent for District Operations Eduardo Trevino, and Executive Director for Human Resource Jesus A. Costilla.
Supporting the Mavericks honor graduates were Eagle Pass Independent School District Board of Trustees including President Ignacio J. Saucedo, Vice-President Glenna Purcell, Secretary Lupita Fuentes, and Trustees Ramon Ramirez, Dr. Hector Alvarez, Hilda Maritnez-Caballero, and Benjamin Rodriguez, III.
