Eagle Passans celebrate Fiestas Patrias and Mexico’s Independence Day

Over 2,000 Eagle Passans enjoyed the Fiestas Patrias Mexicanas and El Grito de Dolores in honor of Mexico’s 204th Independence Day Anniversary at the festivities hosted by Mexican Consul Ismael Naveja Macias and the City of Eagle Pass on Monday, September 15, 2014, at San Juan Plaza.
Mexican Consul Ismael Naveja Macias welcomed everyone to the Fiestas Patrias Mexicanas held at San Juan Plaza in Eagle Pass. Guests were treated to traditional Mexican folklore dance groups, Mariachi music, cultural entertainment, games, food booths, and refreshments.
Eagle Pass Mayor Ramsey English Cantu also welcomed all the participants and expressed the City of Eagle Pass’s support of Mexico’s 204th Independence Day Anniversary on September 16th.
After a world class entertainment and artistic presentation by various Mexican folkloric dance groups, Mariachi, singers, and artists, Mexican Consul Ismael Naveja Macias proclaimed El Grito de Dolores of Mexico’s Independence hero Father Miguel Hidalgo in honor of Mexico’s 104th Independence Day Anniversary before a packed audience at San Juan Plaza, accompanied by Mayor Ramsey English Cantu.
The Mexican Consulate Office and City of Eagle Pass Fiestas Patrias Mexicanas and El Grito de Dolores festivities were a great success and a solemn commemoration of Mexico’s 104th Independence Day Anniversary.
