Democratic Party Presumptive Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton taps U.S. Senator Tim Kaine of Virginia as Vice-President Running Mate

Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton announced that she is “thrilled” to name U.S. Senator and former Virginaia Governor Tim Kaine as her Vice-President running mate in the 2016 Presidential Election.
Kaine served as a City Councilmeber of the City of Richmond, Virginia, Lieutenant Governor of Virginia, Governor of Virginia, and now as a U.S. Senator.
Kaine is a former civil rights attorney born in Minnesota but raised in Kansas and a Catholic. He is seen as a moderate Democrat in the U.S. Senate. He is a fluent speaker in English and Spanish. He learned Spanish and did a one year overseas volunteer program in Honduras.
The 2016 Democratic Party National Convention opens on Monday, July 25, 2016 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the birthplace of Independence in the United States.
