Samuel Mijares Named Lone Finalist for EPISD Superintendent

(Press Release) On Tuesday, June 25, 2019, Eagle Pass Independent School District Board of Trustees named Deputy Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, Samuel Mijares, as the lone finalist for the position of EPISD Superintendent of Schools.

Mr. Mijares has been an educator for 24 years and served all of them at EPISD. In his various positions of teacher, instructional officer, principal, executive director, and deputy superintendent Mr. Mijares has strived to keep the students’ and staff’s best interest in mind.

He will be working closely with current Superintendent, Gilberto Gonzalez, to ease the transition and work to continue the district’s excellence and success.
