The City of Eagle Pass International Bridge System Board of Trustees re-elected local attorney Kimberly Cantu as President and local entrepreneur Angie Rodriguez as Vice-President and welcomed newly appointed Board of Trustees Erasmo Villalpando and Noe Rodriguez at their September 23, 2019 meeting. Eagle Pass Mayor Ramsey English Cantu also serves on the Eagle Pass Bridge System Board of Trustees.
The Eagle Pass City Council appoints the members of the Eagle Pass Bridge System and they in turn elect the officers of the Board. City Council appointed local healthcare executive Erasmo Villalpando and local banker Noe Rodriguez to the vacant two Board of Trustees positions.
Erasmo Villalpando was sworn-in as a new Eagle Pass Bridge System Board of Trustee at the September 23, 2019 Board meeting while Noe Rodriguez was absent due to a previous business commitment. Rodriguez will be sworn-in either at the next Board meeting or by City Secretary Imelda Rodriguez.
Erasmo Villalpando stated that he was pleased to be appointed to the Eagle Pass Bridge System Board of Trustees and looked forward to working with Board President Kimberly Cantu, Vice-President Angie Rodriguez, Mayor Ramsey English Cantu, and fellow Board member Noe Rodriguez in providing stewardship and leadership to the two City of Eagle Pass International Bridges.
Villalpando noted the important role that the Eagle Pass Bridge System plays for the City of Eagle Pass taxpayers as it contributes over $11 Million per year to the City’s General Fund.
Anna De La Garza serves as the Eagle Pass Bridge System Operations General Manager.
Villalpando added that the Eagle Pass Camino Real International Bridge (No. 2) on South Monroe Street celebrated its 20th Anniversary on September 27, 2019 and the Eagle Pass Bridge System is one of the largest United States-Mexico Ports of Entry.
