Eagle Passan Tejano Music Recording Artist Oscar G Selected for Induction into Tejano Roots Hall of Fame

Tejano Roots Hall of Fame and Museum President Ruben Lopez announced that Eagle Pass native son, Oscar Gonzalez, also known as “Oscar G,” has been selected by its Board of Directors to be inducted into the Tejano Roots Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2019 at a formal induction ceremony to be held on Saturday, January 4, 2020, at the Jim Wells County Fairgrounds Merchants Building in Alice, Texas.
The Tejano Roots Hall of Fame and Museum is designated as the official hall for Tejano Music in the State of Texas, according to House Bill 1019 passed by the Texas Legislature and signed into law by former Texas Governor Rick Perry on May 3, 2001.
The Tejano Roots Hall of Fame and Museum receives nominations from around the nation and the Board of Directors review and select the biographies of individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to Tejano Music.
Oscar G has enjoyed a long career as a recording artist in Tejano Music having started his career with local bands and graduating onto internationally renowned Tejano Music groups before launching his solo career in the industry.
Gonzalez stated that he is deeply honored to have been selected for induction into the prestigious Tejano Roots Hall of Fame as a member of its Class of 2019 and looks forward to attending the induction ceremony on January 4, 2020.
