Eagle Pass Police Department Crime Report

Friday, March 6, 2020, 11:38 AM: A traffic stop conducted within the 1800 block of Del Rio Boulevard resulted in the arrest of 17-year-old Eduardo Johnathan Gonzalez. After being stopped for speeding Gonzalez was found to have an active City of Eagle Pass Municipal Court warrant. Gonzalez was placed under arrest and while inventorying his personal property was discovered to be in possession of an electronic cigarette containing a vaping cartridge of a controlled category. Gonzalez was charged with possession of a controlled substance and after paying the Municipal Court warrant was remanded to the Tom Bowles Detention Center in lieu of a $5,000.00 Bond. 

Friday, March 6, 2020, 12:10 AM: A traffic stop conducted within the 200 block of Madison Street resulted in the arrest of 28-year-old Daniel Fuentes. During the course of the stop officers developed probable cause to search the 2014 Dodge Charger and during the search located a usable amount of marijuana. Further investigation revealed Fuentes to be in possession of 4 small plastic baggies containing cocaine. Fuentes was charged with possession of a controlled substance and remanded to the Tom Bowles Detention Center in lieu of a $6000.00 bond.

Sunday, March 8, 2020, 4:44 AM: Officers responded to the toll booths at Port of Entry #2 in regards to a motor vehicle accident. Officers spoke with a party involved identified as 27 year-old Miguel Ignacio Cabello who displayed several signs of intoxication. Cabello refused to conduct standardized field sobriety tests and when placed under arrest resisted officers. Cabello was charge with driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest and remanded to the Tom Bowles Detention Center in lieu of an $8000.00 bond.
