With over 30,000 registered voters in Maverick County, 212 citizens cast a ballot during the first day of Early Voting on Monday, June 29, 2020, in the Texas Primary Run-Off Election of July 14, announced Maverick County Democratic Party Chairperson Juanita V. Martinez.
Early Voting is being held during June 29 through July 10, 2020 at the City of Eagle Pass Multi-Purpose Center, located at 480 South Monroe Street, in Eagle Pass, Texas from 8 A.M. to 5 P.M.
Martinez encourages all Maverick County registered voters to come out and vote during the Early Voting Period to avoid any lines on Election Day on July 14.
Martinez noted that due to the 4th of July Holiday the Eagle Pass Multi-Purpose Center Polling Booth will be closed on Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4, but candidates are requesting Maverick County to authorize a special Election Day on Sunday, July 5, to provide Maverick Countians an opportunity to vote during the weekend while they are off from work or travel. A decision will be made soon if the candidates request for a special Election Day on Sunday, July 5, will be granted.
Since there are going to be less days to vote during the Early Voting Period due to the July 3 and 4 holiday, Martinez recommends people take advantage of the efficient and smooth election procedures being administered by Maverick County Elections Administrator Roy Schmerber and staff during the June 29-July 10 Early Voting Period at the Eagle Pass Multi-Purpose Center.
There are key statewide, district-wide, and county races on the ballot for Maverick County voters to cast their votes for the candidates of their choice. Early voting only takes 5 to 10 minutes to cast your vote and make a difference in the community and the state of Texas. Your vote is your voice. Si Se Puede!
