Candidate Registration Period for Four Eagle Pass Independent School District Board of Trustees’ Places Opens

The Eagle Pass Independent School District (EPISD) announced that the candidate registration period for four places on the Board of Trustees Election on November 3, 2020 has opened effective July 20, 2020 and will run through August 17, 2020.
The four Board of Trustees’ places up for election are Places 1, 2, 6, and 7, currently held by Board President Jorge Barrera, Chris Hiller, Dr. Hector Alvarez, and Glenna Purcell, respectively.
Interested persons must be a United States citizen, 18 years of age or older, and be a resident of Maverick County. Applications for the EPISD Board of Trustees Election of November 3, 2020 may be picked up at the District Office located at 587 Madison Street, Eagle Pass, Texas 78852.
The EPISD Board of Trustees oversee and set policies for 24 public school campuses within the District, over 14,300 students, over 868 teachers, 1,932 full-time staff, and an annual fiscal budget of over $150 Million.
