Incumbent Maverick County Constable Precinct No. 1 Rudy Valdez has filed an official application for a recount of the July 14, 2020 Primary Run-Off Election against challenger Oscar “Ram” Ramos with the Maverick County Democratic Party on Monday, July 27, 2020, announced Juanita V. Martinez, Maverick County Democratic Party Chairperson.
In the July 14, 2020 Primary Run-Off Election, Oscar “Ram” Ramos narrowly defeated incumbent Constable Rudy Valdez by 28 votes with Ramos garnering 653 votes compared to Valdez’s 625 votes.
The official recount will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2020, at 9 A.M. at the 293rd Judicial District Courtroom, located at 500 Second Street in Eagle Pass, Texas, said Martinez.
Results will be announced after the official recount with the winner representing the Democratic Party at the November 3, 2020 General Election. Since there is no Republican Party or any other party candidate vying for the seat of Maverick County Constable Precinct No. 1, the official winner will in all probability be elected as Constable Precinct No. 1 in the November 3 election.
