SWTJC announces adjustments to Fall classes amid COVID-19 spikes in service area

(Press Release) Southwest Texas Junior College officials announced on Wednesday (July 22) all Fall 2020 Academic/Transfer courses will be offered virtually or remotely via Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Canvas Conference.
“Given the rise in COVID-19 cases statewide and in SWTJC’s service area and the uncertainties associated with this rise academic/transfer course will be offered virtually, while technical program classes will meet virtually for lecture and meet in-person for hands-on labs, observing safety and social distancing procedures,” said Mark Underwood vice president of academic affairs.
The official SWTJC Return to Campus plan is currently being modified to reflect the recent changes.
“Once we make all the changes to the Return to Campus Plan, a link will be posted on our website and our social media platforms,” said Derek Sandoval, vice president of administrative services and reopen committee member.
