Nationally, it is estimated that up to 40 percent of the total deaths associated with COVID-19 in the United States have been at nursing home facilities and rehabilitation centers and at assisted living centers, more than 60,000 Americans. The exact amount is unknown due to discrepancies among the 50 states reporting mechanisms of COVID-19 deaths within nursing home facilities and rehabilitation centers and assisted living centers.
