2,443 Eagle Pass Voters Cast Ballots During Early Voting Period of City Council Place 2 Run-Off Election, Regular Election Day is Saturday, September 5, 2020

A total of 2,443 City of Eagle Pass, Texas registered voters cast their ballots during the Early Voting Period of the City Council Place 2 Run-Off Election between Elias Diaz and Elizabeth Chisum De La Garza as there is one remaining day of voting scheduled on Saturday, September 5, 2020, Regular Election Day.
Political observers have noted that the City Council Place 2 Run-Off Election is a close, hard fought race between two new political candidates supported by distinct followers. One observer called it the battle between David versus Goliath, implying that one candidate is supported by diverse and progressive followers while the other candidate is supported by followers who have held power at City Hall during the past 40 or more years.
The race will come down to the wire on Saturday, September 5, 2020, with one final opportunity for Eagle Pass voters to cast their ballots at the Multi-Purpose Center, 480 South Adams Street, from 7 A.M. to 7 P.M. on regular Election Day. Election results will be announced shortly after the poll closes at 7 P.M. and all of the votes are counted by the Election Judge and staff.
The winner of the City Council Place 2 Run-Off Election will replace City Councilman Rudy Villalpando, who has served 14 years on the City Council and lost a close race for Mayor against fellow City Councilman Luis E. Sifuentes in February 2020.
All City of Eagle Pass registered voters are encouraged to exercise their right to vote and come out to cast their ballot for the contested City Council Place 2 Run-Off Election on Saturday, September 5, 2020, from 7 A.M. to 7 P.M. at the Multi-Purpose Center.
