Eagle Pass Assistant Fire Chief and Maverick County Emergency Operations Center Co-Director Rodolfo “Woody” Cardona solemnly announced another Maverick County citizen died due to COVID-19 and eight new confirmed positive COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, September 9, 2020, reaching the cumulative total of 100 COVID-19 deaths milestone and 3,499 cases in Maverick County.
Cardona also acknowledged there had been reporting discrepancies in the September 8, 2020 COVID-19 Report between the Emergency Operations Center and the City of Eagle Pass regarding the positivity rate. Cardona noted that the Emergency Operations Center’s positivity rate was 21.1% (actually 21.2% was announced at press conference) while the City of Eagle Pass reported it at 20.8%. Cardona pointed out the City of Eagle Pass COVID-19 Report of September 8, 2020 was going to be corrected to reflect a positivity rate of 21.1%.
Cardona stated that a total of 16,866 people in Maverick County have had a COVID-19 test administered with 3,499 positive results, 13,056 negative results, 311 pending results, 400 active cases, 2,999 recovered people, 100 fatalities, 27 currently hospitalized patients, and a high positivity rate of 21.1%.
Cardona’s 100 COVID-19 deaths milestone announcement came on the same day that Washington Post and Pulitzer Prize Winner News Reporter Bob Woodward released audio recordings of President Donald J. Trump for his upcoming book titled “Rage” admitting to having personal knowledge that the novel coronavirus was “deadly” and spreads “airborne” since January of 2020, while intentionally downplaying the deadly coronavirus to the public allegedly to avoid a panic as 190,000 American citizens have now died since Trump’s withholding this public information from Americans.
President Trump’s intentional withholding of the facts that the coronavirus was deadly, airborne, and five times deadlier than the most serious flus and subsequent intentional downplaying the seriousness of the virus has raised uproar and outrage among Americans that Trump lied to 330 Million Americans, including calling for his immediate resignation as President of the Untied States. Americans feel and believe that Trump has lied to and betrayed them by intentionally downplaying the seriousness of the coronavirus so as not to affect his campaign for re-election on November 3, 2020. Americans feel that tens of thousands of COVID-19 deaths could have been prevented had Trump disclosed to Americans what he and the United States government knew about coronavirus in January of 2020.
According to the New York Times, there a total 190,700 COVID-19 deaths and 6,378,900 confirmed positive COVID-19 cases in the United States reported as of September 9, 2020.
According to the Texas Department of State Health Services, a total of 13,692 COVID-19 deaths and 645,791 confirmed positive COVID-19 cases reported in Texas as of September 9, 2020.
