Early Voting Underway in Maverick County at City of Eagle Pass Multi-Purpose Center

Early voting in the United States Presidential and State General Election is now underway in Maverick County from October 13-30, 2020 at the City of Eagle Pass Multi-Purpose Center, located at 480 South Adams Street, in Eagle Pass, Texas, announced Roy Schmerber, Maverick County Election Administrator.
The Eagle Pass Multi-Purpose Center is open October 13-16 and October 19-23, 2020 from 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. for Early Voting to all registered voters in Maverick County.
A special Saturday Early Voting Day has been scheduled on October 24, 2020 from 7 A.M. to 7 P.M. at the Multi-Purpose Center to accommodate all registered voters who work or have not been able to go vote during the week.
In addition, a special Sunday Early Voting Day has been scheduled on October 25, 2020 from 8 A.M. to 1 P.M. at the Multi-Purpose Center for registered voters in Maverick County.
During October 26-30, 2020, Early Voting hours will be extended from 7 A.M. to 7 P.M. at the Multi-Purpose Center to provide all registered voters in Maverick County an opportunity to cast their ballot during the critical Early Voting period.
Regular Election Day is scheduled for Tuesday, November 3, 2020 from 7 A.M. to 7 P.M. at designated county precinct polling places.
On the first day of Early Voting, Tuesday, October 13, 2020 a total of 719 people voted at the Multi-Purpose Center followed by another 696 voters on Wednesday, October 14, and another 606 voters on Thursday, October 15, totaling 2,021 votes during the first three days of Early Voting.
All registered voters in Maverick County are encouraged to take five minutes of their time to come out to vote in this important election and cast their ballot for the candidates of their choice.
Unlike other cities and counties in Texas, there is no long line at the Multi-Purpose Center to cast one’s Early Voting ballot as the Maverick County Election Office has developed and implemented a smooth voting process filled with health and safety measures to protect all voters.
Bring oneself, your spouse or significant other, adult children, parents, grandparents, family, friends, and co-workers to come out to vote in the election. Democracy is only as strong as its citizens’ participation. Get up and go vote today. Your vote does count and matter.
