Despite enjoying beautiful fall weather filled with plenty of sunshine and cooler temperatures and a smooth early voting system, Maverick County citizens participation in the Early Voting Period is considered low compared to other Texas counties who are recording historic high voter turnout records.
With over 30,000 registered voters, Maverick County has the potential to make a significant impact in many national, state, and local political races if it could just find a way to get its citizens to come out to vote during Early Voting.
As of Monday, October 19, 2020, a total of 3,457 registered voters in Maverick County had cast their ballots in the critical United States Presidential and State General Election of November 3, 2020, approximately 10 percent of registered voters.

Other Texas counties are experiencing record turn out during Early Voting such as Travis County, Williamson County, Bexar County, Harris County, Dallas County, and Denton County. Statewide, more than 4 million Texans out of 16.9 million registered voters have already cast ballots, averaging 24% of voters exercising their right to vote in Texas.
Travis County had 234,016 of its 855,175 registered voters cast ballots as of October 18 (27.36%); Williamson County had 105,372 of its registered voters cast ballots as of October 18 (32.48%); Harris County had 628,708 of its 2.5 million registered voters cast ballots as of October 18 (25.3%); Bexar County had 270,066 of its 1.2 million registered voters cast ballots as of October 18 (22.7%); Dallas County had 350,018 of its 1.4 million registered voters cast ballot as of October 18 (25%); and Denton County had 180,768 of its 565,089 registered voters cast ballots as of October 18 (32%).

All public officials should recommend all citizens come out to vote. Employers are suggested to give employees a half-hour or one hour to go vote during the work day, too.
