With only two days remaining to vote during Early Voting, Thursday and Friday, October 29-30, 2020, Maverick County employers are urged to give their employees an hour during the workday to go vote and cast their ballot in the United States Presidential and State General Election in order to increase the voter turnout rate in Maverick County, Maverick County Democratic Party Chairperson Juanita V. Martinez said.
In many Texas communities, it is not uncommon for employers to give employees time to go vote during during their work hours and Maverick County should join this great democratic movement by employers, added Martinez.
Maverick County registered voters have two days remaining to cast their ballot during Early Voting at the City of Eagle Pass Multi-Purpose Center, 480 S. Adams Street, Eagle Pass, Texas.
The Multi-Purpose Center is open Thursday and Friday, October 29-30, 2020 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for all Maverick County registered voters to cast a ballot during Early Voting.
After Friday, October 30, Maverick County voters are only going to be able to vote on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, 2020, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at designated County Precinct Polling Places.
Currently, Maverick County has a low voter turnout during Early Voting and if local employers allow their employees one hour to go vote during the workday, it would definitely increase the voter turnout in our county while increasing employee morale and productivity at the workplace, added Martinez.
