With the United States Presidential and Texas General State Election underway with Early Voting during October 13-30, 2020, Maverick County will be holding special Early Voting days on Saturday and Sunday, October 24 and 25, 2020 at the City of Eagle Pass Multi-Purpose Center, 480 South Adams Street, Eagle Pass, Texas 78852, announced Juanita V. Martinez, Maverick County Democratic Party Chairperson.
All registered voters in Maverick County who have not yet cast their ballot in the November 3, 2020 Election during Early Voting will have an opportunity to come out to vote this coming weekend on Saturday, October 24, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Sunday, October 25, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., added Martinez.
“Many voters work during the week or out of town and can not vote during the week (Monday through Friday), but this weekend voters in Maverick County will be able to vote at the Eagle Pass Multi-Purpose Center on Saturday and Sunday,” said Martinez.
“We encourage all registered voters in Maverick County to come out and vote early this Saturday and Sunday, October 24-25, and don’t wait until regular Election Day on Tuesday, November 3, 2020,” noted Martinez.
While Texas is reporting a record high voter turnout during Early Voting with over 4,706,398 ballots cast in the first seven days, averaging approximately 25% of the state’s 16.9 million registered voters, Maverick County has only had 4,110 voters cast ballots in the first seven days of Early Voting with an average of 13% of the over 30,000 registered voters.
Martinez recommends for all registered voters to make a plan to vote during early voting by bringing one’s spouse and adult children, parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters, co-workers, and friends. She notes to make sure all voters bring a Texas Identification Card such as a driver’s license, Texas I.D., Texas concealed handgun license or other eligible I.D.
Martinez noted that in addition to early voting during this coming Saturday and Sunday, the Eagle Pass Multi-Purpose remains open for voting during October 21-23 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and October 26-30 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Regular Election Day is on Tuesday, November 3, with voting from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at designated county precinct polling places.
