Eagle Pass Border Crossing Time Taking 2 to 4 hours Due to Thanksgiving Holiday Travelers and COVID-19 Health Screenings By Mexican Authorities

American citizens traveling into Mexico through the City of Eagle Pass, Texas and Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico border are taking between two to four hours to cross due to thousands of vehicles seeking to go visit family and relatives during the 2020 Thanksgiving holiday and COVID-19 health screenings implemented by Mexican public health authorities in Piedras Negras, Coahuila.
The large number of American travelers seeking to go into Mexico during Thanksgiving and the COVID-19 health screenings by Mexican public health authorities are delaying the time necessary to cross the United States-Mexico border.
Mexican public health authorities are giving each vehicle and its occupants crossing into Piedras Negras, Coahuila through the City of Eagle Pass International Bridges Nos. 1 and 2 a COVID-19 questionnaire to answer that takes several minutes to fill out, causing significant crossing time delays for travelers and extending the traffic lines seeking to cross in Eagle Pass, Texas.
Any American traveler deemed to be a COVID-19 public health risk to Mexico is being denied entry and returned to the United States.
The Mexican COVID-19 questionnaire and screenings in Piedras Negras, Coahuila took effect on Saturday, November 21, 2020 and will remain in effect until Thanksgiving, November 26, 2020.
Travelers are advised to be patient and have plenty of fuel in their vehicle gas or diesel thanks as they might take long hours waiting in line to cross the U.S.-Mexico border through Eagle Pass-Piedras Negras port of entry.
