Eagle Pass Business Journal Encourages Texans to Support Small Business Saturday, Shop Local Businesses
(Press Release) Eagle Pass, Texas- “There has never been a more important year to support small businesses in Texas than 2020 in light of the devastating financial blow the COVID-19 pandemic has dealt small businesses throughout the Lone Star state,” said Ricardo E. Calderón, Publisher of the Eagle Pass Business Journal.
This year’s Small Business Saturday is on November 28, 2020, which falls between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, according to American Express who founded 11 years ago the Small Business Saturday in the United States to promote local small businesses.
According to American Express, 64 percent of small business owners believe that this year’s Small Business Saturday is more important than ever due to the COVID-19 pandemic’s economic impact on small businesses.
Most small businesses in the United States, including Texas, are hurting and struggling financially due to the loss of customers and revenues caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Many small businesses have had to close and those who are battling to survive the pandemic are counting on the Christmas holiday shopping season to stay afloat and make it into 2021.
Last year, over 110 million people participated in Small Business Saturday spending a record high $19.6 billion, according to Amercan Express.
The Eagle Pass Business Journal encourages all Texans to support and shop local small businesses on Small Business Saturday on November 28 as well as throughout the entire Christmas holiday season. It makes great business sense for Texans to shop locally at small businesses this holiday season and year-round. Small businesses employ a majority of Americans and are significant contributors to local, state, and national economies.
“From the Río Grande Valley to San Antonio to Austin to Houston to Dallas to Amarillo to El Paso and in every Texas city in between the Lone Star State, Texans should shop at and support local small businesses this November 28 and year-round more so than ever,” said Calderon.
