Eagle Pass Woman Murdered with Gunshot to the Head, Case Under Investigation

On Sunday, November 15, 2020, a 22 year old young mother of one child, Jocelyn Sevilla, was found dead inside a mobile home on Del Río Blvd. in Eagle Pass, Texas with a gunshot wound to the head and covered with a bedsheet by her mother, who immediately reported the tragic incident to the Eagle Pass Police Department.
The Eagle Pass Fire Department EMS Ambulance rushed to the scene on Del Río Blvd., but found the young woman without vital signs.
A Maverick County Justice of the Peace was summoned to the scene to pronounce the young woman deceased. The Justice of the Peace ordered an autopsy of the deceased female to determine an official cause of death.
The Eagle Pass Police Department Detective Division and the Texas Rangers are investigating the homicide of the young woman.
Jocelyn Sevilla is survived by a young child and her family. She lived at one time in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico where she attended school, but recently had relocated to Eagle Pass since she was a United States citizen and wanted to pursue a career in the United States.
A suspect is being investigated and the weapon used in the homicide has not been located as of press time.
