EPISD Celebrates School Board Recognition Month This January
(Press Release) Eagle Pass, Tx, January 12, 2021: Eagle Pass Independent School District will join 1,024 school districts throughout Texas to celebrate January as School Board Recognition Month, Superintendent Samuel Mijares announced on January 12th.
School board members give their time, energy, and counsel to the school district—without pay. They take on the job of governing the district—making the best decisions they can for our children—with the full understanding that they will receive only the satisfaction of their contribution.
The men and women who make the time to generously provide this important public service do so because they care. They care about their own children’s education. They care about the schools being the best they can be. They care about the next generation and the future of the community and the state.
Serving as a link between the community and classroom, school board members are elected to establish the policies that provide the framework for public schools. Board members serving EPISD are: Mr. Jorge Barrera; Board President, Mrs. Hilda Martinez-Cabellero; Board Vice-President, Dr. Hector Alvarez; Board Secretary, Ms. Lupita Fuentes; Board Trustee, Mrs. Glenna Purcell; Board Trustee, Mr. Christopher Hiller; Board Trustee, and Mr. Victor Perry; Board Trustee.
For all they do, we salute them not only this month but every month. Our Eagle Pass Independent School District Board of Trustees truly navigate us all to success.
