South Texas Food Bank to Host Major Food Distribution in Maverick County on February 25, 2021

The South Texas Food Bank, a non-profit organization based in Laredo, Texas, announced on Monday, February 22, 2021 that it is hosting a major free food distribution for Maverick County residents on Thursday, February 25, 2021, at 9:30 a.m. at the Eagle Pass Independent School District (EPISD) Student Activity Center, located at 5021 East U.S. Highway 277 South, Eagle Pass, Texas.
The South Texas Food Bank in collaboration with the City of Eagle Pass, Maverick County, Eagle Pass Independent School District, and the Maverick County Emergency Operation Center will be distributing up to 3,500 allocations of free food to Maverick County residents.
The February 25 Free Food Distribution starts at 9:30 a.m. at the EPISD Student Activity Center in Eagle Pass. Participants are asked to have the trunks of their vehicles cleared, bring an identification, and wear a face mask. Participants will be allowed to pick-up a second free food allocation for another senior person or family who are 65 years or older provided they bring the identification of that individual with them to the distribution event.
Maverick County Judge David R. Saucedo thanked the South Texas Food Bank and Ms. DeAnne Economedes for their continued support of the citizens of Maverick County with these free food distributions.
Eagle Pass Mayor Luis E. Sifuentes encouraged all Eagle Pass and Maverick County residents to participate in the February 25 free food distribution.
