The second clinic will be at the City of Eagle Pass Cruz Antonio Munoz Gymnasium, 2086 Rosevelt Street, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This second clinic will be available for local residents who are taking their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Vaccines available will include Pfizer for 12 years and older and Moderna for 18 years and older. Minors must be accompanied by at least one parent. These vaccines are free of charge while supplies last. First-come, first-served. No prior registration required.
Vielma noted the rising surge of the Delta Variant of COVID-19 through the United States demands that all individuals who are unvaccinated get vaccinated immediately to protect themselves and their family members and friends. Vielma noted that currently 99% of COVID-19 fatalities are among people who were not vaccinated.
United States public health experts are sounding the alarm that the Delta Variant of COVID-19 is rapidly spreading throughout the nation, especially among unvaccinated people and younger populations than the original coronavirus wave.
Maverick County has a total of 362 fatalities from COVID-19, 47 active cases, 103 probable cases, 10,794 confirmed positive cases, and 10,573 recovered people as of July 15, 2021, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services.
