The joint City of Eagle Pass and Maverick County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) announced it is holding a free COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the City of Eagle Pass Multi-Purpose Center, 480 South Adams Street, in Eagle Pass, Texas.
The vaccination clinic is open to all Eagle Pass and Maverick County residents who need their first or second dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or the single dose of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine.
Eagle Pass Mayor Rolando Salinas, Jr. stated all Eagle Pass residents are encouraged to get their COVID-19 vaccine and wear face masks in light of the current surge of the Delta variant of COVID-19 in the community.
Maverick County Judge David R. Saucedo noted that in addition to the EOC’s COVID-19 vaccine clinic on Tuesday, August 31, the vaccine is also available to all Maverick County residents for free at the Maverick County Hospital District and United Medical Centers in Eagle Pass.
Judge Saucedo added that the COVID-19 vaccine is also available at Walgreen’s Pharmacy, H.E.B. Pharmacy, and Walmart Pharmacy. There are plenty of vaccine supply available to meet the needs of all citizens of Maverick County.
According to Maverick County public health experts, the current surge of the Delta variant of COVID-19 is infecting people who are not vaccinated as well as those who are vaccinated. The difference is that unvaccinated people are experiencing more difficult symptoms and consequences, including death, while those who are vaccinated generally have mild symptoms.
All Eagle Pass and Maverick County are highly encouraged to get their COVID-19 vaccine at the Tuesday, August 31, clinic at the Multi-Purpose Center or a local healthcare provider such as Maverick County Hospital District, United Medical Centers, Walgreen’s, H.E.B., or Walmart.
