Rito J. Valdez, III Registers Candidacy for Re-Election to Maverick County Treasurer

Maverick County Democratic Party Chairperson Juanita V. Martinez announced that Maverick County Treasurer Rito J. Valdez, III registered his candidacy for re-election on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at the Democratic Party Headquarters located at 1299 Main Street, Suite A, Eagle Pass, Texas, becoming the first candidate to register with the Maverick County Democratic Party for the March 1, 2022 Primary Election.
Valdez seeks re-election to a third term of four years as Maverick County Treasurer after having been initially appointed to the post by Maverick County Judge David R. Saucedo in 2013. Valdez was elected to his first full term in the November 2014 General Election and was sworn-in on January 1, 2015 and was subsequently re-elected to his second term in the November 2018 General Election and sworn-in on January 1, 2019.
Valdez was accompanied to his candidate registration by his wife and son. Valdez stated that he looks forward to continuing to serve the citizens of Maverick County as their County Treasurer.
The Texas Primary Election is on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 and the General Election is on Tuesday, November 8, 2022.
