Eagle Pass Cal Ripken Baseball Majors All-Stars Playing in World Series at Branson, Missouri during August 3-14, 2022

After clinching the Cal Ripken Baseball Majors/70 Southwest Regional Championship undefeated, the Eagle Pass Cal Ripken Baseball Majors All-Stars are now playing at the Cal Ripken Baseball Majors/70 World Series during August 3-14, 2022 at Branson, Missouri, becoming the first team from Eagle Pass to qualify for and play at the World Series.
The Eagle Pass Cal Ripken Baseball All-Stars went 5-0 during the Southwest Regional Tournament during July 7-10, 2022, hosted by the City of Eagle Pass Patsy Winn Sports Complex. In the Regional Championship game, Eagle Pass ace pitcher Jay Jacquez tossed a complete six inning game in over 100 degree heat limiting the Westside Mobile, Alabama All-Stars to only three hits and one unearned run in a 6-1 win, earning the Southwest Regional Tournament’s Most Valuable Player Award.
There are a total of 28 teams from the United States and International countries competing in the 2022 Cal Ripken Baseball Majors/70 World Series at Branson, Missouri.
The Eagle Pass All-Stars are in Pool B of United States teams, competing against the New England Regional Champion from Fairhaven-Acushnet, Maine, the Southeast Regional Champion from Clemmons, North Carolina, the Ohio Valley Champion from Crown Point, Indiana, and the Missouri State Champion from Boonville, Missouri.
Eagle Pass All-Stars first Pool game is on Friday, August 5, 2022 at 7 p.m. against the Missouri State Champion from Boonville, Missouri. Their second Pool game is on Saturday, August 6, at 2 p.m. against the Southeast Regional Champion from Clemmons, North Carolina. Their third Pool game is on Sunday, August 7, at 9 a.m. against the Northeast Regional Champion from Fairhaven-Acushnet, Maine. Their fourth and final Pool game is on Tuesday, August 9, at 7 p.m. against the Ohio Valley Champion from Crown Point, Indiana. After Pool Play, the teams with the best win-loss records advance to Bracket play and eventual the top teams play for the overall World Series Championship on Saturday, August 13, at 7 p.m.
The Eagle Pass All-Stars include Renato De La Garza, Jose Sanchez, Orly Chavarria, David Hernandez, Jay Jacquez, Caleb Hernandez, Mathan Cruz, Sebastian Camarillo, Robert Fernandez, Hiram Mauricio, Izzaiah Chavarria, and Jaime Garcia. Team Manager is Robert De La Garza and Assistant Coaches are Jose Sanchez, Orlando Chavarria, and Morris Libson, Jr.
