United Medical Centers Celebrates Groundbreaking Ceremony for New Women’s Health Center in Eagle Pass, Texas

The United Medical Centers (UMC) Board of Directors, Chief Executive Director William Worrell, and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Gaston Zylberg hosted the official groundbreaking ceremony of the new Women’s Health Center, located at 2525 N. Veterans Blvd., Eagle Pass, Texas on Thursday, August 11, 2022.
Eagle Pass Mayor Rolando Salinas, Jr. presented a Proclamation to United Medical Centers Board of Directors President Jose M. De Luna, III and Chief Executive Officer William Worrell proclaiming August 11, 2022 as United Medical Centers Women’s Health Center Day and National Health Center Week in honor of the much needed Women’s Health Center facility and healthcare services.
UMC Chief Executive Officer William Worrell welcomed all the guests, patients, and dignitaries present at the historic groundbreaking ceremony.
Worrell introduced UMC’s Board of Directors composed of Jose M. De Luna, III, President; Maria J. Martinez, Vice-President; Benjamin Rodriguez, Jr., Secretary; Frank Mendoza, Treasurer; and Board members Stephanie Alsup, Dr. Hector Alvarez, Margarita Andrade, Francisco Martinez, III, Gene Mireles, Sonia Rodriguez, and Travis Huey.
Worrell stated the new Women’s Health Center will have 10,000 square feet with the latest technology and healthcare providers offering multiple services to women such as Obstetrics and Gynecology services, mammograms, family planning, breast cancer screenings, and well woman care.
Dr. Gaston Zylberg stated the new Women’s Health Center is greatly needed in the community and will provide critical healthcare services to women from the tri-county service areas of Maverick, Kinney, and Val Verde counties.
UMC Board President Jose M. De Luna, III stated the Board of Directors are committed and dedicated to providing the quality and affordable healthcare services to the residents of Maverick, Kinney, and Val Verde counties.
The UMC Board of Directors and staff proceeded to the official groundbreaking ceremony with decorated shovels bearing the blue and gold colors of UMC breaking the earth to commence the construction of the new Women’s Health Center.
Following the groundbreaking ceremony, guests were treated to refreshments and hor’s d’ oeuvres to celebrate the start of construction of the new UMC Women’s Health Center in Eagle Pass.
