Eagle Pass City Council Candidate Registration for Two Places in May 6, 2023 Election Now Open

The City of Eagle Pass City Council will have two places of its five member board up for election in the May 6, 2023 Election, opening a candidate registration period for these two places from January 18 through February 17 with City Secretary Imelda Rodriguez at the Eagle Pass City Hall, 100 South Monroe Street, Eagle Pass, Texas.
As of press time, three candidates have registered for the two places on the May 6 ballot and more candidates are expected to register before the close of the February 17 registration deadline.
Incumbent Eagle Pass City Council Place 1 William “Billy” Davis was the first to register on January 18 for re-election to another four year term with City Secretary Imelda Rodriguez.
Two candidates have registered for term-expired Mayor Pro-Tem Yolanda P. Ramon’s Place 3 City Council seat, including Mario E. Garcia and Ruben J. Camarillo.
To register as a candidate for the City Council, one must be a United States citizen, be a resident of the City of Eagle Pass for a minimum of six months and of the State of Texas for a minimum of 12 months, not have been declared mentally incompetent, and not have been convicted of a felony.
