C. C. Winn High School Life Skills Students Visit Eagle Pass Police Department

The Eagle Pass Police Department welcomed Life Skills students from C.C. Winn High School on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 for a special visit that gave students an opportunity to learn more about local law enforcement and interact with officers.

Police Chief Amy Gonzalez said students toured the EPPD facility and were given a closer look at the department and some of the work officers perform while serving the Eagle Pass community.

One of the highlights of the visit was a special demonstration by one of the department’s K9 teams, giving students an opportunity to see the police dog and handler working together.

The department thanked Mrs. Even-Tijerina and Mr. Diego, along with their aides and transportation driver, for helping make the visit possible and ensuring the students arrived safely.

Gonzalez said visits such as Tuesday’s provide the department with an opportunity to interact with local students outside of the traditional law enforcement setting while building positive relationships with young people in the community.

The Eagle Pass Police Department said it enjoys welcoming students into the department and providing opportunities for them to become more familiar with the officers and personnel who serve their community.

The department thanked the C.C. Winn Life Skills students and staff for spending part of their day with EPPD and welcomed the opportunity for similar visits in the future.
