Eagle Pass Police Department and Eagle Pass ISD Police Department Investigating Anonymous Threat To Local School Campus

The Eagle Pass Police Department and Eagle Pass Independent School District Police Department are investigating an anonymous threat reportedly made toward a local school campus.

According to a media release issued by Eagle Pass Police Chief Amy Gonzalez on Thursday, September 3, 2026 EPPD recently received an anonymous tip through its Tips 411 application regarding a threat directed toward a local school campus.

Authorities did not identify the school involved or disclose the specific nature of the alleged threat.
EPPD and EPISD Police were immediately made aware of the information and are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the report.

Police said investigators are working to determine the credibility of the threat and emphasized that the safety of students, school personnel and the community remains their highest priority.

The investigation comes amid heightened attention to school threats across Texas. Law enforcement agencies in several South Texas communities have recently investigated threatening social media posts, including a viral trend involving manipulated or AI-generated images referencing schools and communities.

Authorities have warned residents against sharing threatening or unverified posts and stressed that such reports are taken seriously.

Eagle Pass authorities have not indicated whether Thursday’s reported threat is connected to that trend.

Police are asking residents to avoid spreading rumors or unverified information that could interfere with the investigation or create unnecessary concern.

Any credible updates or additional information appropriate for public release will be provided as the investigation progresses, according to EPPD.

EPPD’s Tip411 system also allows residents within Eagle Pass city limits to anonymously submit crime tips and safety concerns. Police remind residents that Tip411 is not intended for emergencies and that anyone facing an immediate emergency should call 911.
