Federal Jury Convicts Conroe Man of Enticing Minor in Del Rio

DEL RIO, Texas — A federal jury in Del Rio, Texas has convicted a 26-year-old Conroe, Texas man of enticing a minor following an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Texas announced the conviction Monday, September 28, 2026.

According to court documents and evidence presented during trial, Brandon Westfall used an internet dating site on May 29, 2025, to communicate with a person he was told was a 16-year-old girl.

Federal prosecutors said the communications moved from the dating site to text messages and later to phone and FaceTime calls. During those conversations, Westfall allegedly described sexual activities he wanted to engage in with the minor and expressed a desire to meet her in Del Rio.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Westfall invited the minor to connect with him through Snapchat to verify her location.

Prosecutors said Westfall then sent the minor a photograph and a sexually explicit video of himself and requested that she send him pornographic images in return.

FBI special agents arrested Westfall on May 30, 2025, one day after the initial online communication, and seized his phone.

A federal grand jury indicted him on June 25, 2025, on one count of enticement of a minor.
The case went before a federal jury this week. Following a two-day trial and approximately 20 minutes of deliberations, jurors returned a guilty verdict.
Westfall now faces up to 10 years in federal prison, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
The FBI investigated the case as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide Department of Justice initiative aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse.
Assistant U.S. Attorneys Joseph Duarte and Nallely Duarte are prosecuting the case.
