Hailey Cruz Buddy Walk to Celebrate Inclusion and Community Support in Eagle Pass

The Eagle Pass community is invited to come together for the Hailey Cruz Buddy Walk on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Plaza de San Juan.

The walk will begin at 9 a.m. and celebrate Hailey while promoting inclusion, acceptance and love for individuals with Down syndrome.

Hailey was recently selected from more than 2,700 entries worldwide to appear in the 2026 National Down Syndrome Society Times Square Video Presentation, making her a hometown star and a source of pride for the Eagle Pass community.

Family members, friends, clubs and local organizations are encouraged to participate, walk alongside Hailey and show their support.

Attendees are welcome to wear yellow or blue, the colors traditionally associated with Down syndrome awareness.

The event was made possible through the efforts of Councilwoman Jessica Rey Ramon and with the support of the City of Eagle Pass.

Organizers hope the Buddy Walk will bring residents together while encouraging greater understanding and celebrating the unique abilities and contributions of people with Down syndrome.

The community is encouraged to attend, cheer loudly and help show Hailey how deeply she is loved and supported by her hometown.
