Maverick County Law Enforcement Investigating Apparent Suicide in Quemado Valley Area

Authorities reported another apparent suicide in Maverick County on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 after sheriff’s deputies were summoned to the Quemado Valley area.
Upon arriving at the scene, deputies with the Maverick County Sheriff’s Department found an unresponsive male individual who appeared to have suffered a self-inflicted injury.
The individual was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Authorities continued investigating the circumstances surrounding the death as the man’s family sought answers about what may have led to the tragedy.
No additional information regarding his identity was immediately released.
The incident occurred during September, which is recognized as National Suicide Prevention and Awareness Month.
