Southwest Texas College Transfer and Career Center Open House Offers New Opportunities

Southwest Texas College at Eagle Pass, Texas celebrated a successful Open House and Career Mixer on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, showcasing the newly renovated Transfer and Career Center and the growing number of opportunities and resources available to students.
The event brought together students, college representatives and local employers at the center, located in Room C-115 at its Eagle Pass campus. Employers participated in a special session from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by the student open house from 11 a.m. to noon.
Students had an opportunity to tour the renovated center, browse university brochures and learn about academic programs and pathways that can prepare them for future careers.
One of the featured resources was the Career Closet, which provides students with access to professional attire for job interviews and employment opportunities.
Attendees also learned about the Career Corner, a developing resource that will provide information about businesses and organizations currently hiring in the community.
The Career Mixer allowed participants to become familiar with the support available as they prepare to transfer to a university or enter the workforce.
Local employers also learned how the center can serve as an asset by helping connect businesses with qualified students and future employees.
Refreshments and door prizes added to the welcoming atmosphere as students explored the facility and spoke with representatives about their educational and professional goals.
The successful event highlighted Southwest Texas College’s continued commitment to helping students move confidently from the classroom into a university or career. Through transfer assistance, career preparation, professional clothing and connections with area employers, the center is helping students take the next important step toward their future.
The College Transfer and Career Center offers students with new opportunities and resources to succeed in their chosen career and field of study.
