The City of Eagle Pass is preparing to honor the brave men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces with its annual Veterans Day Parade and Proclamation Ceremony scheduled for Saturday, November 7, 2026.
The celebration will begin at 10 a.m. with a patriotic parade through downtown Eagle Pass, bringing together local veterans, their families, community organizations, city officials and residents to recognize those who have dedicated part of their lives to defending our nation.
Immediately following the parade, the City of Eagle Pass will conduct a special Veterans Day Proclamation Ceremony in front of the Eagle Pass Public Library, recognizing the service, courage and sacrifices of military veterans.
Veterans Day is observed annually on November 11 throughout the United States to honor all individuals who have served honorably in the nation’s Armed Forces, both during times of war and peace. Originally established as Armistice Day to commemorate the end of World War I in 1918, the holiday was renamed Veterans Day in 1954 to recognize veterans of all American wars.
Eagle Pass and Maverick County are home to more than 1,600 military veterans who have served in different branches of the Armed Forces, representing generations of individuals who answered the call to serve their country.
Many of these veterans continue contributing to the community through civic organizations, volunteer activities, veterans’ associations and programs supporting fellow service members and their families.
The annual celebration provides an opportunity for residents, particularly younger generations, to recognize the importance of military service and remember the sacrifices made by those who have defended the freedoms Americans enjoy today.
City officials are encouraging the entire community to participate in the November 7 celebration, show their appreciation and help recognize the veterans who proudly call Eagle Pass and Maverick County home.
“Honoring their service. Celebrating their sacrifice. Thanking our heroes.”
