The Eagle Pass High School Mighty Eagle Band earned a Division I rating Saturday, October 17, 2026 at the UIL Region 11 Class 6A Marching Contest at D.W. Rutledge Stadium in Converse, Texas.
The band announced the result Saturday night, celebrating its performance at the regional competition hosted at Converse-Judson CISD.
The rating puts the Mighty Eagle Band in position to advance to the area round. Under UIL rules, varsity bands that earn a Division I at region and have declared their intent to continue are certified for advancement.
Saturday’s competition was the regional round, with area competition next on the road to state.
The UIL Area H Class 6A Marching Contest is scheduled for Saturday, October 31, at D.W. Rutledge Stadium in Converse, giving qualifying bands two weeks between the regional and area contests.
Eagle Pass’ performance time at Area competition has not been designated yet.
At Area, bands compete for a place in the UIL State Marching Band Contest.
Advancement depends on their rankings and the number of qualifying bands in the contest, making the next round a separate hurdle before reaching state.
For the Mighty Eagle Band, Saturday’s Division I rating marks an accomplishment for the students and directors representing Eagle Pass High School and gives local families and supporters another reason to cheer on the program.
