An Eagle Pass man faces 15 to 30 years in federal prison after pleading guilty in Del Rio, Texas federal district court to one count of production of child pornography, federal prosecutors announced October 21, 2026.
Gerardo Sanchez Jr., 30, also known as Jerry Sanchez, sought explicit material from underage girls through social media in exchange for money, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Texas.
Investigators examined more than 1,000 Cash App transactions associated with Sanchez between July and December 2023.
Authorities said numerous payments went to more than 30 accounts sponsored for minors. Agents subsequently discovered child sexual abuse material on his Facebook account.
One victim told investigators Sanchez paid her more than $1,000 for images and videos sent through Snapchat.
Authorities also reported that he delivered flowers to her school.
Sanchez worked for GEO Secure Services LLC during the period examined, according to prosecutors.
A federal judge will determine his sentence.
The announcement did not provide a sentencing date.
