Head-On Collision Between Semi-Tractor and Pickup Reported Near Quemado, Texas

Emergency crews are responding to a head-on collision involving a semi tractor-trailer and a pickup truck at U.S. Highway 277 and FM 1590 near Quemado on Monday, October 5, 2026 , according to Eagle Pass Fire Chief Rodolfo Cardona.
One person was trapped, and crews were working to extricate them.

Maverick County Sheriff’s Department Chief of Deputies Roberto DeLeon said one person was airlifted to a San Antonio hospital. The person’s condition has not been released.

Emergency crews are out at the scene working the accident. Motorists should use caution in the area and expect traffic delays.
