Honoring Our Roots, Caring for Our Community
On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, October 12. 2026, we honor the histories, cultures and contributions of Indigenous peoples whose communities continue to enrich our country.
This day invites us to learn, listen and appreciate the generations who came before us, while recognizing the Indigenous families shaping our communities today.
As we consider the future of healthcare in Maverick County, my hope is that every family feels heard, respected and able to find the care they need. Serving our community begins with understanding its people and honoring the experiences they bring.
May we continue building a community where we value our roots, respect one another and care for our neighbors.
