Hundreds of families participated in the Eagle Pass Police Department’s annual National Night Out on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at the Patsy Winn Sports Complex, making the community gathering a great success.
The event brought residents, police officers and local first responders together for an evening of family activities, safety information and opportunities to get to know one another.
Families enjoyed activities, informational booths and demonstrations while interacting with officers outside their usual law enforcement duties. The gathering gave residents an opportunity to ask questions, learn about safety programs and meet the people who respond when help is needed.
National Night Out is a nationwide initiative that promotes partnerships between law enforcement and the neighborhoods they serve.
Through community gatherings, the campaign encourages open communication and cooperation to help make neighborhoods safer.
The strong turnout in Eagle Pass demonstrated the community’s willingness to participate in that effort. Parents and children shared time with first responders in a welcoming setting, helping build relationships that extend beyond the evening’s activities.
For the Eagle Pass Police Department, the event provided another opportunity to strengthen trust with residents and encourage families to take an active role in community safety.
