Maverick County residents who need help with IRS notices, tax questions or problems delaying their refunds will have an opportunity to meet with IRS representatives in Eagle Pass on Wednesday, October 14, 2026.
The IRS Community Assistance Event will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Workforce Solutions, located at 1200 Ferry Street on the second floor.
According to the event announcement, IRS representatives will work face-to-face with residents to address tax concerns, including those who have tried calling the agency but have been unable to get through.
Services will include account assistance with notices, letters and payment plans, answers to specific tax filing questions, and identity verification to help resolve issues holding up refunds.
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance volunteers will also be available to prepare current tax returns and prior returns covering the last five years.
Residents seeking tax preparation assistance should bring a photo identification for the primary taxpayer and spouse, along with a Social Security card or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number for each person listed on the return.
They should also bring W-2 forms from all jobs, Forms 1099 and 1098, and any other income documents needed to prepare their returns.
For direct deposit, residents should bring documentation showing their checking or savings account number and bank routing number.
The event gives residents an opportunity to discuss their tax concerns directly with IRS personnel and receive tax preparation assistance locally.
