The Jorge Maldonado Foundation, founded by Isela Segura Maldonado, invites community residents to its monthly soup kitchen Saturday, October 24, 2026 at 12 noon at the Seco Mines Community Center in Eagle Pass and the Quemado Community Center in Quemado.
The monthly held Jorge Maldonado Foundation Soup Kitchen is open to the public on a first come, first served basis. Generally, an estimated 800-900 food plate servings are provided together with a refreshment.
The event honors Jorge’s example of love and generosity by bringing neighbors together through service and compassion.
“Let us follow Jorge’s example of love and generosity by serving our neighbors with open hearts and helping hands,” said Maldonado.
The foundation encourages community participation in the monthly gathering, emphasizing the importance of helping others and strengthening connections among neighbors.
The invitation, shared in English and Spanish, welcomes residents of both communities to attend.
“Together we can make a difference in our community,” the foundation’s announcement states.
